Ubud has been known since 1932 by Europe people. Some European artists came to Bali did an travelling for their mission to expand their panting experience in Asia. Shortly, they arrived in Ubud and accepted by The King of Ubud, Ida Cokorde Sukawati who had a powerfull on Ubud teritorial.
One of the painter is Rudolf Bonnet, he stayed at one house which given by The King. At that place he created the paintings which tells about the local daily life such as ceremony at the temple, cremation ceremony, the parmers working in the rice field, activities of traders in traditional market and many others.
The local culture in the past was original very much, the people did all the ceremonies and rituals with joyful. Their life is so close to each other, know well to each other with high tolerence. The village was so peaceful and charismatic. Basicly, the culture of Balinese is based on agriculture. All the traditions and cultures were created from the activities of agriculture. The farmer is the subject of culture and tradition in Bali. Dewi Sri or Rice Goddes is worshiped by the farmers.
95% of people in Bali worked in the rice field in the past. They did their routines based on Hindu and Budhis Religion. This tradition is still exist and look after well by the locals untill now.
The culture like this can makes Bali looks so difference than the other islands in Indonesia. Its just like a magnet can able to invite the tourists come to Bali who want to see and to know more the culture closely. Everywhere you go you can see the people are doing rituals and ceremonies.
